Introduction to Yoga

The benefits of Yoga provide both instant gratification and lasting transformation. It is not just about the work out, it is also about leading a healthy lifestyle. The practice of Yoga allows us to find stillness in a world consumed with chaos, enabling the peace and tranquility we need to unclutter our minds and become more focussed.

Yoga’s deep breathing and meditation practices help foster a shift from all the external distractions in our lives to our own inner peace and well-being. These help us stay grounded and prepare us for all the challenges we encounter through life.

The physical side of Yoga focuses on strength and flexibility, which has numerous benefits for our body. The postures are meant to strengthen our bodies from the inside out, so you don’t just look good, you feel good too. Many of the yoga poses are built to reinforce the muscles around the spine, the very center of our bodies, which is the core from which everything else operates. When the core is working properly our posture is improved, thus alleviating back, shoulder and neck pain.

When Yoga is coupled with a healthy, balanced diet it has enourmous benefit for the digestive system, which can relieve constipation, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and acid reflux. Another one of the benefits is that stretching and holding postures also causes muscles to lengthen, which increases the range of movement and gives the body a longer, leaner look.

Our daily Yoga sessions will allow you to get to know your body and experience the many benefits first hand.
